School/ College Magazine/News Letter: “The Garrisonian” is annual magazine of this prestigious institution, portraying the creativity and academic prowess of its student body. Consisting of both English and Urdu sections, contribution and participation in its production is open to all students of the School/College. Besides School/College Magazine, quarterly newsletter is prepared and issued to all students reflecting Curricular and Co-Curricular Activities for the information of students and parents. Upcoming events are also reflected in the newsletter.
Library :The School/ College library is well stocked with wide range of books, periodicals, reports and study material. We keep on adding books from time to time according to the recommendations received from the secretariat and the students. The affairs of the library are managed by a trained librarian and assistant librarian. Photos
Daily Routine : The daily time table is drawn up with a view to make most of the time available for studies. Equal stress is laid on class work and outside activities, including organized games.
Conduct of Assembly : We start the day with proper assembly. The assembly is conducted by students and to ensure that maximum students participate, a class is made responsible to conduct it, thereby giving chance to almost every student to participate. At times the students are nominated by the Principal especially those who are found to be lacking confidence. Owing to inclement weather the assembly is conducted in respective classrooms. Photos
Public Speaking : Besides morning assembly the class teachers have been directed to give a pep talk in the classes on daily basis. The students are asked to deliver a brief speech on selected topics. This activity has proved to be fruitful in building confidence among the students. This is also developing their overall communication skills and personality too.
Sense of Responsibility : To inculcate the sense of responsibility and ownership among the students they have been made responsible to maintain discipline in the classes, during the assembly and while dispersal at pack up time. Most of the students have started taking school/College as their second home. It has curtailed the damage of school/College property. In order to maintain healthy and clean environment and to inculcate the habit of ensuring cleanliness inside the classrooms and the premises of the school/College the classes have been made responsible to remove litter from the verandas and also from the ground after the break.
Communication with Parents :Parents are kept informed about the progress of their children. They are informed by the following methods:-
a. Parent Teacher Meeting
b. Through Letters
c. Observations by teachers on students’ diaries. If the parents, especially of the weak students, fail to turn up they are called by giving them a telephonic call by the Section Heads.
Summer Camp : Summer camp is a permanent and special feature of this institution. It is highly beneficial to the students in achieving good marks in Secondary School Certificate and Higher Secondary School Certificate Examinations. Usually its duration is 4 to 6 weeks in June/July every year. Our teachers teach the students very enthusiastically and a considerable portion of syllabus is covered during the summer camp, resultantly the syllabus of Class IX and X is covered well in time.
Counselling and Guidance Cell : Counselling and Guidance Cell was established in February 2005. Counseling cases are processed and copies of the cases are forwarded to Lahore Garrison Education System Secretariat on monthly basis. At times parents have been involved. The step has brought fruitful results.
